1. Thorough knowledge on the procedures and documentation of handling export and import shipments. 2. Effective interface with the divisions within the company and external agencies, such as Freight Forwarders, CHA's and transporters. 3. Maintaining a close rapport with all the Government agencies, such as Customs, DGFT, Port, etc. 4. Thorough knowledge on handling on export of dangerous goods. 5. Maintaining a close rapport with the Indian Institute of Packaging and ensuring that the certificates for export of DG cargo are issued by them without any hindrance. 6. Ensuring that all the export shipments are shipped as per the timelines duly meeting the monthly/quarterly sales targets. 7. To maintain a close coordination with the export sales team and the overseas customers. 8. Thorough knowledge on negotiation of export bills covered under L/C's. 9. To ensure that all the import shipments are cleared and delivered at the respective plants of the company as per the schedule. 10. To maintain a close interface with the respective plants. 11. Thorough knowledge on filing and issue of export and import licenses by MOD/DGFT - including advance licenses. 12. Good communication skills in English - both writing and oral. 13. Ensure that all the statutory obligations relating to export and import shipments are adhered to. 14. To look forward to continuously improve the operations effectiveness and bringing down the logistic cost. 15. To keep the team members highly motivated and promote a strong corporate culture & high performance from each individual team member. 16. At the same time, to keep all the service providers also highly motivated through regular interaction/communication. 17. To resolve on time issues with suppliers, customers, customs, CHA- s, FF- s, transporters and employees. 18. To maintain a close interface with Finance and ensure that all the payments to respective service providers are paid in time. Work Experience Needed : 1. Over 15 years in handling the operations of export and import shipments preferably with companies having a large volume of export and import shipments. 2. Experience in handling exports of dangerous goods. 3. Experience in negotiation of shipping documents with banks covered under L/C's. 4. Experience in filing applications with DGFT/MOD for issue of export and import licenses. 5. Experience of close/direct interaction with senior officials in customs/port/DGFT/IIP/Banks and other related Government departments. (ref:engineeristic.com)
